Description

I actually wrote up histories 'n stuff for all of my pokes, so here are the profiles of my three main ones. Warning, big wall 'o text ahead. =P

Team: Aerodactyl, Aggron, Lapras

Name: Roy
Species: Aerodactyl
Sex: Male
Ability: Pressure (Causes 2 PP to be used in battle instead of 1. Interpret this how you'd like!)
Nature: Vicious (in-game equivalent: Hasty)
Hold Item: Razor Fang
Battle style: Roy is the speed demon of Kyan's team, always darting around the battlefield and never staying in one place longer than needed to launch an attack. His preferred battle style is to disorient the opposing Pokemon with his Agility and Double Team, hitting them with strong physical attacks such as Stone Edge, Ice Fang, Aerial Ace, Aqua Tail, and Crunch to rack up damage. Should the opponent get out of range of his powerful Physical moves, be prepared to take a well timed Earthquake, Dragon Pulse, or Flamethrower to the face. Roy detests switching Pokemon, seeing it as a sign of weakness, and will relentlessly Pursuit any opponent who tries to switch out, an ironic attitude when coupled with the fact that his Roar scares off most opposing pokemon into retreating. He is an aggressive fighter, and will Taunt the opposing Pokemon into attacking if he feels they are too slow to keep up with him.
Athletic stat: Speed
Contest stat: Cool
Other info: Roy was one of the first Pokemon Kyan owned after Larvitar was stolen, having been bred from an Aerodactyl and an unknown father in an effort to study Aerodactyl's breeding habits. Ecstatic to own what he considered "living history," Kyan instantly took to Roy, a feeling that was completey unrequited at first. Deeming his "trainer" as weak and unworthy of his power or respect, Roy was often disobedient, flying off on his own or Roaring at Kyan whenever he tried giving Roy an order. It was not until Kyan saved a dehydrated Aron from a remote cave in Orre that he grudgingly admitted that, while his trainer would probably always prefer his precious stones and textbooks over giving Roy real battles to show his power in, Kyan wasn't just an eccentric little digger with his head stuck in the past, but an individual who was just as dedicated to his Pokemon as he was to his beloved mines. Roy was later trained at the Battle Tower during a short break in Kyan's travels, much to his happiness, where he learned stronger moves to increase his power in battle. Roy is still somewhat unsatisfied, being used more for transportation instead of the battles he lives for, but he'll put up with it, just this once.

Name: Ferross
Species: Aggron
Sex: Male
Ability: Rock Head (Recoil moves do not damage the user)
Nature: Recklessly Loyal (or just Loyal) (in-game equivalent: Brave)
Hold Item: Expert Belt (worn on left arm)
Battle style: A little on the reckless side, Ferross will obey any order from Kyan with no regards to his own wellbeing. While slow on his feet, he knows several defensive moves such as Iron Defense, Protect, and Sandstorm to boost his bulk and wear down the opponent before finishing them off with a powerful Iron Head, Thunderpunch, Low Kick, or Avalanche. While not nearly as aggressive as Roy in battle, he is very protective, sometimes overly so, of his trainer, and will charge into an opponent without a second thought, using powerful moves such as Outrage, Iron Tail, Double-Edge, and Head Smash if he thinks they might be a threat to Kyan's safety. While many of his other moves such as Flamethrower, Dig, Strength, Rock Smash, Icy Wind, Rock Climb, Brick Break, and Screech/Metal Sound are used primarily to assist Kyan in his explorations, they can also be used in battle to good effect.
Athletic stat: Power
Contest stat: Tough
Other info: Ferross was found as an Aron on the brink of dehydration at a remote cave in Orre that Kyan has visited when he was documenting the geology of Orre. With food and water being scarce in the Orre region and wildlife being the exception rather than the norm, the Aron had become malnourished and dehydrated. He was taken from the cave by Kyan, too weak to fight or even run away, and rushed to Agate village where the oasis-like environment and the Pokemon Center's care revitalized the young Aron. Knowing that Orre's climate was no place for an Aron to be living, Kyan offered to take the Aron back to Sinnoh, believing he would enjoy living near the ironworks factory near Florama Town, a prospect which the Aron was excited for. The trip would take some time, with Orre being far away from Sinnoh, and during that time, the Aron had become more and more attached to the person who saved and cared for him, despite that he had to be repeatedly admonished for eating the ore Kyan had dug up. By the time they were ready to leave Orre, neither of them felt like parting ways, and thus detoured their trip to Hoenn instead after hearing some interesting rumors about ancient caverns there.
Although Kyan had never considered himself a trainer, he trained his new Aron hard, concerned that taking low level pokemon with him on increasingly dangerous digs would just be recklessly endangering their lives. Although their training got off to a rough start at first, with Ferross charging recklessly at his opponent and often hitting the unfortunate wall or trainer behind it instead, he eventually evolved into an Aggron and fought in the Battle Tower alongside Roy and Lapiz for a time. Ferross is always willing to assist Kyan in his digs, despite sometimes being too eager and strong for his own good where delicate work is required. He remains Kyan's most trusted and used partner.

Name: Lapiz
Species: Lapras
Sex: Female
Ability: Shell Armor (Opponent cannot Critical Hit, again you can interpret this creatively~)
Nature: Patient (in-game equivalent: Relaxed)
Hold Item: Leftovers
Battle style: Lapiz is the calm, collected fighter of Kyan's team, preferring to support her teammates with moves like Mist, Safeguard, and Heal Bell while hiding behind a substitute or bolstering her stats with Curse, Resting whenever necessary. The speed loss doesn't particularly bother her, as enemies have a hard time denting her huge stamina and her Shell Armor ensures that her opponents will never find a weakness in her defense. If she is forced to fight, she generally uses special moves such as Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Ancientpower, and Thunderbolt to keep the opponent at bay. However, don't let her preferred style of fighting fool you- those who manage to dodge her long ranged attacks are often met with a Curse-boosted Aqua Tail or Ice Shard to the face. She, like Ferross and Roy, also knows moves primarily used for Kyan's many explorations such as Whirlpool, Icy Wind, Waterfall, Surf, Horn Drill, and Dive, but as many of them are situational, she rarely uses them in actual battles. She hates all Salamence with a passion, as it was a Salamence which gave her her scars and caused her to be abandoned by her previous trainer.
Athletic stat: Stamina
Contest stat: Smart
Other info: Kyan added this Lapras to his team when his ruins-seeking adventures took him to Lake Valor in search of the ancient cavern that supposedly resided there. Lo and behold, he found her swimmingly quietly at the other end, which immediately grabbed his interest as he knew Lapras were rare and had never been sighted at Lake Valor before. Excited by the chance to see one of the world's oldest species of Pokemon firsthand, he called out Roy, eager to see the Lapras up close. Upon flying out to meet this strange sighting, he knew immediately that something was wrong, judging from the multiple injuries on her body. Intent on getting her to a Pokemon Center before she made her injuries worse, he flew in closer to the mysterious Lapras, only to nearly get knocked off of Roy by her powerful Hydro Pump.
As Roy dodged her attacks handily even with the additional weight, the number of moves she had that a wild Lapras would never normally learn confused Kyan, until it dawned on him that she must have been abandoned here by her previous trainer. The thought greatly angered him, as it went against his belief that Pokemon should be treated as family, but since his Rock types were mostly unusable on the vast lake, all he could do was order Roy to keep dodging her attacks. Eventually the repeated attacking wore her out, at which point he managed to capture her and get her the treatment she needed. Knowing that her water type abilities would be useful in his explorations, her brought her on his journey with him, intent on showing her that her that a Pokemon's worth can't be judged by their battle abilities alone.
